Political Science Major at Simpson College

Blake has debated in Public Forum Debate for four years. He is currently a senior at Western High School, preparing to make the transition to Simpson College in Iowa in the fall to study political science. Throughout his four years in Public Forum, his notable competitive achievements include accumulating over 1,800 NSDA points, reaching ranks as high as 70th in the nation, 2nd Place in the Junior Varsity division at the University of California, Berkeley as a sophomore, back-to-back championships at the Braddock Invitational junior and senior year, winning the Flying L Invitational his senior year, as well as breaking at dozens of regional and national tournaments that include Quarterfinals at the Colt Classic, Octofinals at the Crestian Tradition, Triple-Octofinals at Sunvite in 2016. Furthermore, Blake has received numerous speaker awards ranging from a 10th best speaker at the University of Florida, 7th best speaker at Nova Titan, and 18th best speaker at the Crestian Tradition. He is excited to pass along to the next generation his passion for debate, while simultaneous emphasizing academic achievement. Blake is thrilled to be a residential advisor for Capitol Debate at the University of Central Florida, Notre Dame, and Rider University.
