Safety is our Top Priority

After a hiatus from operating camps in summer 2020 out of concern for COVID, Capitol Debate can't wait to return to make a difference in student's lives in Summer 2021. We are committed to providing world-class public speaking and debate camps while maintaining our commitment to our students, parents, and staff's safety and security.

With over 15 years of experience in running summer camps, Capitol Debate is ready to make the necessary adjustments to provide a safe environment for our students this summer. Capitol Debate continues to monitor the situation daily, and we are in close communication with all Universities on how to run our camps on their campuses safely. Our University partners have become very adept at best practices, with many hosting students on their campuses all year.

Capitol Debate is committed to implementing best safety practices following CDC, University, and state guidelines, which MAY include but not limited to:

  • Wearing Face Masks
  • Social Distancing
  • Practicing Good Hygiene
  • Testing - Before and During
  • Taking Temperature

As covid19 is a very fluid situation, we will communicate final procedures around 30 days before camp begins to have the most up to date information on protecting our students best. As we develop and solidify our policies, we will communicate that with all of our families.

Deposit Protection Program

Full Payment was the only way in the past to catch our amazing early bird rates. We understand that families remain concerned about this summer. In response, we only require a $799 deposit now to lock in our early bird rates, with the remaining balance paid in 2 equal payments on 4/15 and 5/14 automatically withdrawn from your credit card. Your deposit and any payments made can be converted into future credit at any time before May 15.

Flexible Cancellation Policy

We understand that families remain hesitant to make financial commitments now because of COVID. While effective planning requires us to maintain our long-standing no financial refund policy, linked below, we are implementing some changes to allow for more flexibility. We have extended the time parents can use credit up to 2 years, allow the transfer of credit to students outside of their immediate family, and guarantee admission into a Capitol Debate summer camp the following summer at no additional cost. Rest assured that if your student must cancel due to exposure to COVID up to 48 hours before arrival, Capitol Debate will offer full credit for use on future programs. Full Cancellation Policy

Payment Plan Details

Families now have the option to opt for a payment plan instead of paying in full during checkout. Take advantage of our Summer Camps payment plan and spread your payments out. All that is required is a $799 deposit upfront to lock into the current price and then make three equal automatic payments on March 15, April 15, and May 14. Payment plans do require families to agree to have their credit card automatically charged on specified dates. Families receive the current discounted price when they pay the deposit granted all three additional installments on March 15, April 15, and May 14 are processed successfully. The price will revert to full price if installment payments are not completed on the agreed dates.

Pay in Full & Save

Families will continue to have the option to pay-in-full during checkout. The significant advantage is that you save $100 off the camp's current price at checkout. As per our long-standing policy, the full payment is nonrefundable. However, families may still receive credit for other Capitol Debate programs, as stated in our cancellation policy. Whether you cancel or Capitol Debate must cancel, families may still receive up to 100 percent credit to be used at other camps or programs up to two years from the date the camp was scheduled to take place.

Catch the Big Early Bird Savings

Capitol Debate offers huge early bird savings for Families. If you register by February 15, you will save up to $600 off of the full price of residential/commuter camps or up to $200 off day camp or virtual summer camps.
