Public Forum Virtual Debate Camp

Our Public Forum Debate Camp is perfect for students with one to two years of Public Forum debate experience, or for those students preparing to join their school debate team.   Taught by renowned teachers with sterling track records, our debate students leave our debate camp with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to succeed in debate.  Our educational approach has been fined tuned over years of experience coaching and teaching champion debaters. Our curriculum combines great educational content with proven teaching methods to help you successfully incorporate new skills and knowledge into your debating.

Students will learn:
  • Impact Calculus
  • Evidence Comparison
  • Time Allocation
  • Word Economy
  • Ethos and Confidence
  • Crossfire Strategy
  • Rebuttals
  • Final Focus

We challenge students to constantly apply the material they learn throughout camp. Every lecture is accompanied by a practicum where students execute on what they just learned. Between execution drills and practice rounds, every student speaks every day.  Students will receive detailed, extensive post-debate feedback and the opportunity to do multiple speech redos. We make sure you get it right.
Capitol Debate is proud to introduce our robust Virtual Summer Camps. The program runs from 11:00 a.m. EST to 5 PM EST for all students (West Coast students start at 8 a.m. PST). We were a pioneer back in 2012 in launching the first national online educational platform to teach public speaking and debate. Since then, thousands of students have crossed our screens and have gone on to be successful public speakers and debaters. Both in response to the current situation with COVID-19 and the trend toward virtual education, Capitol Debate is fully prepared to offer summer camps virtually. With 8 years of extensive online teaching experience, we have coached many national debate champions and seen amazing transformations in students' confidence and presentation skills.
