Communication Faculty Graduate Assistant, Bob Jones University
Jonathan Savoy got his start in competitive speech and debate while in high school and quickly built up experience in public speaking, mock trial, and a wide variety of other competition events, achieving Quintuple Ruby status as a competitor in the National Speech and Debate Association. In 2015, he was the South Carolina State Champion and an NSDA national tournament competitor, both times in Lincoln Douglas Style Debate. Since high school Jonathan has continued to judge debate tournaments and volunteer as a mock trial coach. While in college, his academic interests have been in public persuasion, intercultural communication, and nonprofit work. As a result of his experience and study, he is passionate about mentoring and investing in the lives of young people so that they can reinvest their skills to improve their lives, their society, and their world. Jonathan began pursuing an MA in Communication in the fall of 2019.
