Carrie received her Ph.D. at Texas A&M University and has been teaching communication classes, including Public Speaking and Argumentation & Debate, for more than 6 years. She has won three teaching awards from Texas A&M at the program, college, and university level. In fall, Carrie will start her first semester as an Assistant Professor at Roanoke College in Virginia. Carrie enjoys working with students and loves summer camp! She has spent many summers working with middle and high school students at dance and theatre camps. Her favorite thing about teaching is watching her students find their voice and build their self-confidence.

Our Summer Camp and Year-round programs have helped build students’ communication and critical thinking skills, thus leading to better academic performance at school. The curricula of Capitol Debate debate camps is aimed to equip children with the ability to structure arguments, prepare debate cases, research evidence, write rebuttal briefs, deliver speeches and refute opponents.
