Campers return to our program year after year because of how life-changing our Summer Debate Camps prove to be. Our parents will tell you themselves that they proudly stand by their investment in Capitol Debate because of the impact it has had on their families.
As a teacher in a public school, you get to teach a wide variety of students with varying interests and various intelligence. Unfortunately, being “smart” is not “cool” which is short-sighted and naive. At Capitol, it’s embraced and encouraged by the campers and the staff. We need more intelligent, educated young people
I made a lot of friends and learned how to debate! I never felt uncomfortable and everyone was really welcoming! I can't wait for next summer!!
Relationships, experiences, values, skills, challenges - are life lessons that stay with your teen forever. My kids had amazing FUN. They made tons of friends which are long-lasting. They gained skills for a lifetime.
It has given me new insights into debating and has set a base for my debating career.
The camp was challenging and very beneficial. My daughter not only learned a great deal, but she made treasured friends from around the globe!
I feel so lucky that we discovered Capitol Debate camp! Max loves debate and although he did not have a lot of experience he quickly got up to speed at debate camp thanks to the patient and amazing debate coaches. Max learned a lot about debate, got a lot of practice in a safe and supportive environment, and made a lot of friends--who were smart, nice, and just as interested in debate! He had an incredible experience and can't wait to go back next summer!
This camp taught me a lot! I learned so much from very kind and amazing instructors and had so much fun in the process. All of the instructors wanted me to succeed and pushed me to try my hardest. I have become a better debater and made new friends through this amazing relationship. I look forward to coming back!
I would say, that I highly recommend debate camp because the kids work hard and play hard and that is what summer camp is all about. My son loved it! He met good friends and they are all planning on coming back.
In the beginning of camp, I thought that Capital Debate would succeed as being one of the low-points of my summer. However, I was completely wrong. Capitol Debate turned out to be one of the highlights of my summer. I would definitely come back next year, and I would encourage anyone to come.
OMG!!! I thought I would be worried about my daughter going to the camp for her first time sleeping away but I did not worry at all. The staff is amazing and took great care of my daughter. They build relationships with the students while teaching them so much.
