Loyola University's Columbia Graduate Center hosts our longest-running day camp program. The campus is the location for many of the University's graduate programs, including its Masters of Business Administration. It is situated in an industrial park, close to a local church, numerous restaurants, financial institutions, and technology companies. The Columbia Graduate Center sits directly beside a beautiful pond, which is visible from many of the classrooms and conference rooms. In 1949, Loyola grew beyond undergraduate studies and formed a graduate division. The graduate school now includes programs in arts & sciences, education, and business. It has grown to over 2500 post-graduate students, split between the Timonium Campus and the Columbia Campus.
Because the building houses the Sellinger School of Business MBA program, the classrooms are state-of-the-art, equipped with new technology, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, carpeting, and comfortable seating.
Loyola University was founded in 1852 by John Early. Since its inception, it has been guided by principles of excellence in education, an emphasis on liberal arts, and a commitment to educating the entire person: mind, body, and soul.

Great place to be introduced to the fundamentals of debate.
I feel so lucky that we discovered Capitol Debate camp! Max loves debate and although he did not have a lot of experience he quickly got up to speed at debate camp thanks to the patient and amazing debate coaches. Max learned a lot about debate, got a lot of practice in a safe and supportive environment, and made a lot of friends--who were smart, nice, and just as interested in debate! He had an incredible experience and can't wait to go back next summer!
They bring their communication and research skills from the camp back to their classroom and school. The debate program has transformed their leadership skills that they are able to step into leadership roles at their schools with confidence. They lead the swim team and debate group and help other students at their high schools. I am very satisfied. I continue to send them back to the debate camp year after year and will also send two more of my children when they are old enough. I highly recommend this program to parents who are considering sending their kids in the future.
I don't think about people judging me anymore, I feel like I've become more open. For example I don't mind going up and signing horribly for a crowd anymore. Who cares what they think as long as I'm having fun. I understand that now.
Capitol-Debate is the best place a child could be in the summer. Notice changes in her speech, discussions and was talking of taking up career goals in public speaking. Sure way to boost the child's confidence in speaking and interaction.
My son enjoyed both the academic challenge and the social activities. While preparing for his final debates, he was supported by an excellent, knowledgeable staff and a community of other campers who had similar goals and interests. The camp staff pays close attention to the campers' needs. They organize the campers' days carefully to encourage both academic learning and fun, social interaction. This high degree of organization and the staff's compassionate attention was key to making my son's camp experience a success.
Debate camp has much to offer the students. The structured program allows the kids to experience a multitude of positive reinforcements on leadership development. The students develop or expound on self confidence, independence and the ability to see both sides of the coin. They learn to defend a position even if it may not be popular and use excellent methods to research material. The educated coaches are supportive and have their own personal experiences to share with the students.
Working at Capitol Debate is every teacher's dream: Teaching relevant, fun material to students eager to learn. It's a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
The best camp you could ever ask for, ranging from education to fun, you will NOT want to go home!
This camp was a blast. I want to go back again next year, and also do a residential camp later on. This camp was a fun and educational camp. I had loads of fun. It taught me positive things. And the number one thing that will always be left with me is one song. "Scoreboard" by Apollos Hester. He was very inspirational. I really want to come back, and will definitely tell people about this wonderful camp.
