TERMS, CONDITIONS, AND POLICIES

Cancellation: All payments are nonrefundable. Should cancellation be necessary, a Capitol Debate account credit for the tuition only will be provided for use up to 1 year from the final date of the program originally purchased. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing and be sent electronically to team@capitoldebate.com. Any request for cancellation must be made prior to May 1st for camps and at least two weeks for other programs to receive 100% credit less any fees or add-ons as described in the policy. Any and all payments made towards add-ons (including but not limited to snack packs and residential packs) or fees are non-refundable and are non-creditable. Should cancellation be necessary, all payments made towards add-ons will be retained as non-refundable. Any and all payments made toward additional fees (including but not limited to the Safety and Compliance Fee) are non-refundable and non-creditable. Should cancellation be necessary, all payments made towards additional fees will be retained as non-refundable. Cancellations received on or after the closing date for registration for the program you have purchased will follow the sliding schedule below for application of credit to your Capitol Debate account.

Camp cancellation credit timetable:
  • After May 1 | 85% credit
  • 30 – 22 days before start date | 70% credit
  • 21 – 8 days before start date | 60% credit
  • 7 – 4 days before start date | 50% credit
  • 3 – 1 day before start date | 25% credit
  • No Show | 0 credit
Other programs cancellation credit timetable:
  • Two weeks before program start | 100% credit
  • Within two weeks before program start | 50% credit
  • Day Of or No show | 0% credit
  • Trip / Cancellation Insurance: Trip / Cancellation Insurance: Trip and/or Cancellation Insurance can be purchased through a 3rd party provider such as www.aplusplans.com/ or www.insuremytrip.com. Plans generally range in cost from $20 to $285 and can in certain cases protect your investment in various ways from lost luggage or missed connection compensation to cancellation for any reason with as much as 70% – 100% refund options. Most plans require enrollment on or before the final payment is made for your trip so please be sure to look into these available options today.

Capitol Debate Account Credit: All Capitol Debate account credit is non-transferrable between children of different parents and between different Capitol Debate accounts. Capitol Debate account credit can be transferred between children of the same family who are registered on the same account. Capitol Debate account credit can be applied only one time and can only be used for the value of the credit amount. Any purchases in excess of the credit amount must be paid in full at the time any credit is applied to a purchase. Capitol Debate account credit can be used for purchases by calling in to Capitol Debate at (800) 450-5012. Should cancellation be necessary, the amount of the canceled item that was paid for with credit will be retained as non-refundable. Credit can be applied to a purchase only once. Once used credit cannot be re-credited to your Capitol Debate account for use on another purchase at a different time.
Deposits and Payment Plans: Activating a payment plan require 2 items be completed at the time of registration:

  • Any camp or other program registration that requires a Payment Plan must be made over the phone with a Capitol Debate Representative.
  • A deposit upfront of at least $1200.00 US.
  • An electronically signed “Capitol Debate Payment Plan and Transaction Authorization Form”.

As a function of the agreement you will agree to authorize Capitol Debate LLC to charge or withdraw the amounts listed on the signed Capitol Debate Payment Plan and Transaction Authorization Form on the specific dates listed on the Capitol Debate Payment Plan and Transaction Authorization Form to the credit card or from bank account provided and agree to pay for this purchase in accordance with your bank’s or issuing creditor’s cardholder agreement. All payments and deposits associated with a payment plan and made any time prior to the final payment date on the plan are non-refundable, non-transferrable between siblings or any other children or accounts, and unavailable application to a Capitol Debate account as a credit. Only after completion of the payment plan as set out on the Capitol Debate Payment Plan and Transaction Authorization Form will all payments and deposits be made available for transferal or Capitol Debate account credit based upon the terms and conditions noted on this page. Should the payment method be rejected in any way, shape, or form after 2 attempts on any of the dates noted on the Capitol Debate Payment Plan and Transaction Authorization Form, your program registration will be cancelled and any and all payments that have been submitted up to that date will be held as non-refundable, non-transferrable and not available for a Capitol Debate account credit based upon the terms noted herein. A student’s registration for Camp or other programs will not be considered complete until the payment plan has concluded.

Scholarships and Financial Aid: Merit based and need based scholarships and financial aid are available to those who qualify. During the scholarship and financial aid adjudication process, Capitol Debate reserves the right to administratively close the scholarship and financial aid application or deny the applicant a scholarship or financial aid for any reason. Should a scholarship or financial aid be awarded to an applicant, the applicant or someone authorized by them will have a specific period of time in which they must register and pay the remaining balance in full or begin a payment plan as outlined in the Deposits and Payment Plans section of Capitol Debate’s terms and conditions. Once a scholarship is applied to a purchase, the amount of the purchase covered by the scholarship or financial aid does not qualify for use as a Capitol Debate account credit nor is a scholarship or financial aid transferable in any way, shape, or form to a sibling or the child of any other parent. The scholarship is usable one time only and, unless otherwise specified, its use only applicable to the program outlined in any scholarship award communication from Capitol Debate. Should cancellation be necessary, credit is available only for the amount paid on the account and not covered by the scholarship. Qualifying credit will be given based on the terms outlined in the ‘Cancellation’ and ‘Deposits and Payment Plans’ sections of Capitol Debate’s terms and conditions.

Coupons, Discounts, and Pricing Structures: Coupon codes and discounts are available only for a limited time. Once the campaign period for a coupon or discount has ended, the code will no longer be valid or usable and the discount will no longer be applicable to tuition or any other fees associated with registration. Pricing structures are valid only for the dates listed. Once the set period for a pricing structure has ended, any previous prices will no longer be available or valid for use during registration. Should a camp become full and registration go to a waitlist, the waitlist price will supersede any date-based or all past, present, and future pricing structures listed. With the exception of the sibling discount, coupon codes and discounts cannot be applied to a waitlist registration. Sibling discounts are applicable to each sibling registered after the initial student is registered. Discounts and coupons are only applicable to specific camps and locations. Such coupons are non-transferable to camps, locations, or programs to which they do not apply.
Referral Discount/Credit: a $50 discount is available for those who are referred by a friend/family member. To receive the discount upon registration the person who is referred must enter the coupon code provided by the friend/family member during the registration process. The friend/family member (referrer) who refers a person who registers for a camp is also eligible to receive a $50 Capitol Debate account credit. The referrer can receive a Capitol Debate account credit only if the following 2 conditions are met:

  • They have registered for a camp during same summer and done so in advance of the person they have referred.
  • Their name or their student’s name is inputted in the referral box on the registration of the person they referred.

If any of these 2 conditions are not met, credit will not be provided to the referrer. Credit also cannot be provided retroactively for those referred prior to the registration of the referrer. The discount cannot be provided in the form of a refund to the registrant. Referral discounts cannot be combined with additional coupon codes. The amount of credit provided to the any account is at the discretion of Capitol Debate LLC.
