Our parents will tell you themselves that they proudly stand by their investment in Capitol Debate because of the impact it has had on their families.
We have two boys who attended camp for several years and have not only had a blast but come home each time as better men. They are growing up before our eyes and have gained confidence, independence, communication & writing skills and a love for debating. They work hard & play hard. They have lots of freedom in a safe environment and have maintained several friendships outside of camp. The various extracurricular activities (sports, movies and field trips) make for a nice balance & provided them with the break they needed.
Capitol Debate offers exceptionally smart staff members that will change your perspective about debate.
I came back to this camp again and this time it was just as good or better than last year. Also, my lab leader was extremely inspirational and made learning fun and enjoyable. I'll be walking away with lots of information and inside jokes. CRUSH THEIR DREAMS!!!
The middle school camp was an excellent introduction to debate. The staff, programming, and college campus facilities were top notch. As a parent, I also appreciated the great ethnic and geographic diversity of the students.
Great place to be introduced to the fundamentals of debate.
My debate and public speaking skills have increased so much over the course of twelve days, and even if I choose not to pursue debate in the near future, these basic fundamentals will still help out in my academic education.
My son Christopher has been going to the debate camp for four years, and my daughter Rachael has been there for three years. They enjoy the camp more and more every year. They admire their coaches and leaders. The kids are reserved and competitive. This is the best environment for their Summer Camp. They are always excited about meeting their friends at the camp. When their regular school ends in mid June, they would ask, mom, are we going to the debate camp this year? I can feel the excitement in them that they are chatting with their friends on the East Coast and notifying them that they are coming. My kids are happy and enjoy the camp very much.
Great program that teaches kids to present their thoughts in a convincing and respectful manner. Good program to build self confidence and develop friendship.
This is my third year attending a Capitol Debate summer camp, and yet again, I had an amazing experience. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot!
Relationships, experiences, values, skills, challenges - are life lessons that stay with your teen forever. My kids had amazing FUN. They made tons of friends which are long-lasting. They gained skills for a lifetime.
