Capitol Debate Camp has helped me to become a more articulated and confident speaker. It taught me valuable skills that will benefit me throughout further education, and future careers.
The focus on debate and presentation skills was great. Found program to be well-run and the staff readily available if we had any questions. Was also very happy with the friends our son made at camp.
Capitol Debate is an amazing place to make new friends and have fun as well as developing new skills that really make an impact on the way you debate. This is definitely a place that I would want to come back to next year.
This is a great opportunity to have your child enhance his/her English skills, learn how to compose an essay and research a topic while still having fun. It is also a great way to improve public speaking.
I didn't realize how much I would miss this camp until I left on the last day. Truly amazing. Everything. I learned so much from this camp, and not just about debate. The instructors were dedicated and fun. I made so, so many friends here. I learned how to work with others, to communicate effectively, and so much more. This camp was a valuable experience.
The advent of the debate experience reaches it's zenith only under a Capitol debate experience, making experienced learning, street smart instinct, and Debate brinkmanship achievable under capable leadership.
Debate Camp at the University of Dallas was great! The cohort of students learned a lot and watching the progression of their speaking and research development growth was a delight to experience. Overall, lots of fun times and memories!
Teenagers are naturally looking for opportunities to be heard. Give them the skills to think critically and debate coherently, so they can learn to think for themselves and argue for their own rights. Since we are not involved in any debate club or team during the school year, doing a camp like this is desirable.
They bring their communication and research skills from the camp back to their classroom and school. The debate program has transformed their leadership skills that they are able to step into leadership roles at their schools with confidence. They lead the swim team and debate group and help other students at their high schools. I am very satisfied. I continue to send them back to the debate camp year after year and will also send two more of my children when they are old enough. I highly recommend this program to parents who are considering sending their kids in the future.
Before Capitol Debate I didn't have many chances for public speaking, but during it, I was able to work on the flaws I had, like swaying and hand gestures, and improved a lot on my speaking. I now feel much better at talking in front of others confidently and am excited to participate in many activities in high school that require it!
