Two weeks at camp will result in lifelong friendships and memories that will resonate with our students throughout their academic, personal and professional careers. Campers return to our program year after year because of how life-changing our Summer Debate Camps prove to be. Our parents will tell you themselves that they proudly stand by their investment in Capitol Debate because of the impact it has had on their families.
Based on my child's experience, it was a good combination of academic learning, and recreational activities, apart from teaching them how to live independently.
In a mere two weeks, Capitol Debate taught me skills that could be used for a lifetime. In addition, they improved my (nonexistent) speaking skills and boosted my confidence. I've never had so much fun in my life.
Capitol Debate offers kids just the right amount of fun and academics at camp! My daughter Natalie Gonzalez, loved everything about the camp.
I learned so much from this debate camp! If you are just starting out or an experienced highschool debater, this camp is just right. The lectures are, and the labs are a great time to interact with new people. The free time had just the right amount of time, and we are given an abundance of time to work on our case.
This debate camp will give your kid the skill set to advocate for themselves for the rest of their life. They will also make close friends. Meg loved everything she learned but mostly she loved feeling apart of something bigger than herself. She loved the instructors and friends.
They bring their communication and research skills from the camp back to their classroom and school. The debate program has transformed their leadership skills that they are able to step into leadership roles at their schools with confidence. They lead the swim team and debate group and help other students at their high schools. I am very satisfied. I continue to send them back to the debate camp year after year and will also send two more of my children when they are old enough. I highly recommend this program to parents who are considering sending their kids in the future.
Capitol Debate has made me feel more comfortable speaking and debating, and I learned to be more confident as well as think faster on my feet.
Teenagers are naturally looking for opportunities to be heard. Give them the skills to think critically and debate coherently, so they can learn to think for themselves and argue for their own rights. Since we are not involved in any debate club or team during the school year, doing a camp like this is desirable.
Capitol Debate has just the right amount of fun and learning; even class can be entertaining and it is filled with education and debates. The teachers are very thorough and the residential staff members are caring and fun.
At Capitol Debate Seton Hall, I was included and I wasn't left out. So many people there were kind and they took chances on strangers. It taught me to take a chance on strangers, to befriend as many people as I can, even if I'm in a competitive environment. It taught me to never let my negative judgements decide who I should befriend and who I should ignore.
