The Benefits of Debate

Are you ready to stand out from your peers? Are you ready to out-distance your competition? Join the West Debate Team and learn the skills you need to do just that — logic, leadership, critical thinking, cooperation, communication, and other academic skills.

We’ll teach you to do more than just improve these skills in isolation. You’ll learn to use them together. You can cut to the heart of a problem with organization and research; you can clear up issues by writing and speaking clearly, concisely, and convincingly.

You will also have a lot of fun. You will work with a lot of teammates, make a lot of friends, travel to different cities around the U.S., and compete in debate tournaments.

Now is the time to build skills and gain friendships. Now is the time to create the resources that will aid you in your future pursuits, whether academic or professional. Joining a debate team helps in college applications. Schools are looking for creative, thoughtful, confident leaders who can work with others and communicate clearly. Employers are looking for the same thing. We’ll teach you these skills.

How Do I Get Involved?

Joining is easy. Register online. The cost is $1,000 per semester. This price pays for your training, your materials, and all evidence you’ll need in your debates.

If you are interested you can request more information online, send an email to studentservices@capitoldebate.com, or call our main office at 855.933.2283.
