Summer Camp Experience
Not only will Capitol Debate students learn debating skills through our programs; they will feel an increase in self-worth, learn critical thinking skills and improve public speaking and communication skills with their peers. Two weeks at camp will result in lifelong friendships and memories that will resonate with our students throughout their academic, personal and professional careers.
Campers return to our program year after year because of how life-changing our Summer Debate Camps prove to be. Our parents will tell you themselves that they proudly stand by their investment in Capitol Debate because of the impact it has had on their families. We invite you to join us this summer to take part in this life-changing experience.
For Summer 2017, Capitol Debate is proud to announce the grand opening of its first camp north of the border at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
The University of British Columbia is a global center for research and teaching, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world. Founded in 1908 as the McGill University College of British Columbia, the University adopted its current name in 1915 and is British Columbia’s oldest institution of higher learning. Like Capitol Debate, UBC has embraced innovation and encourages students, staff, and faculty to lead discovery and explore new ways of learning with the goal of developing leaders with ideas that can change the world. UBC faculty, alumni, and researchers have received seven Nobel Prizes, 69 Rhodes Scholarships, 65 Olympic medals and 208 fellowships to the Royal Society of Canada. The university has also educated three Canadian prime ministers.
Students will be housed in the comfort Totem Park Residence.
Capitol Debate is excited to expand into Canada and hold it’s Public Forum Debate Camp at the prestigious University of British Columbia.
