Campus Information

Hofstra University is a private, non-profit institution of higher learning. Its main campus is located in the village of Hempstead, New York, United States, approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of New York City on a beautiful, 240-acre campus on Long Island. Comprising ten schools, including a School of Medicine and a School of Law, Hofstra is noted for a series of prominent Presidential conferences, as well as being selected to host United States Presidential Debates in 2008 and 2012.

Like Capitol Debate, Hofstra maintains a low student-to-faculty ratio and keeps its priorities focused on excellence in teaching.
Capitol Debate Campers will enjoy the campus’ several state of the art features:

  • State-of-the-art classrooms
  • Learning and laboratory facilities
  • Extensive wireless Internet access

We at Capitol Debate are excited to be expanding our Public Forum Debate camps in New York. The popularity of our Public Forum debate camps in the northeast has been unparalleled and we are thrilled about the prospects for 2017.
Students will be housed in the traditional style Stuyvesant Dormitories (click here for a 3D view of the room) which is secured 24 hours a day via swipe cards/metal key. Students are going to be dining at the Sandra and David S Mack Student Center.
