Mona Rigdon

Camp Instructor

Mona got her Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice at Saint Leo University but found a passion for teaching, so she changed careers. Currently, she teaches sixth grade science in Fouke, Arkansas. Prior to that, she taught the gifted and talented and Venture program in Texarkana, Texas. Though Mona spends her days teaching sixth graders, she spends her evenings and weekends helping the Atlanta High School Speech & Debate Team on the policy debate side, as well as the informative and persuasive speakers. She debated throughout high school and enjoyed success in several industries (sales, law, and education) over the years thanks to the skills and confidence instilled in her through her debate experience. Mona began helping her daughter’s debate team by coaching and judging in her free time. Her program has successfully sent teams to compete at state level (the highest level in Texas UIL), producing finalists in her first year working with the program. Mona is beginning her second summer as a Babson instructor, and is looking forward to helping other students develop the same critical thinking and communication skills she found in debate through working as an instructor at Capitol Debate camps.
