David Dejesa is the advisor and debate coach of record for the Riverside Speech and Debate Team in Greer, SC. He has twice served as the South Carolina Speech Coaches' Association President and is currently a national district committee member. Under Mr. Dejesa's guidance, the Riverside Speech Team has won nine consecutive state titles, national recognition as a speech school of outstanding distinction, and dozens of first place sweepstakes awards at tournaments across the Southeast. Recently, Mr. Dejesa was Riverside's 2017-18 Teacher of the Year and a Finalist for Greenville County Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018.

Our Summer Camp and Year-round programs have helped build students’ communication and critical thinking skills, thus leading to better academic performance at school. The curricula of Capitol Debate debate camps is aimed to equip children with the ability to structure arguments, prepare debate cases, research evidence, write rebuttal briefs, deliver speeches and refute opponents.
